Born in Indonesia in 1927, Kho Liang le came to the Netherlands in 1949 to study as an interior designer. He was an iconic designer who was responsible for Artifort’s rise to the top of the international furniture market after becoming their aesthetic consultant and designer and attracting many skilled foreign artisans, such as Pierre Paulin and Geoffrey Harcourt.
Liang le’s designs are revolutionary and pair functionality with style to create iconic statement pieces for a modern setting. His use of angles and tufted materials are eye-catching features. A lot of his work is featured in exhibitions around the world and is shown in various design publications.
