Sculptural yet inviting, the Primitive Armchair by Studio Nucleo plays with asymmetry and the raw beauty of geometry. Its form is born from the fragmentation of volume, reducing complex shapes to essential, primary figures. Bold, elemental, and unapologetically abstract, it brings art into the realm of function. Inspired by the movements of the 20th century, from Cubism and Constructivism to Suprematism and Abstract Art, Primitive explores the tension between rational design and spontaneous form. It embodies structure, strength, and material presence without excess: pure volume, distilled.
Designed by Piergiorgio Robino & Stefania Fersini and constructed with a robust internal frame made of high-density polyurethane foam and engineered wood panels, the Primitive Armchair offers both durability and sculptural integrity. Its angular contours are softened by the tactile richness of upholstery in Kvadrat® Divina Melange 3, a dense wool fabric with a smooth, felt-like surface, or Rada® Bouclè, known for its textured, looped yarns and cozy feel. The thoughtful combination of form and fabric creates a piece that’s as visually arresting as it is comfortable. Ideal for curated interiors, art-forward lounges, or statement residential settings.
